Travis Peak Church of Christ Travis Peak Church of Christ goes back more than 100 years. It is located in the Travis Peak area on the north shore of Lake Travis about six miles west of Lago Vista on Singleton Bend Road off of RR 1431. The area was settled during the late 1800s starting with James Davidson in 1856, Waller Singleton in 1879 and Mason Singleton in the 1880s. Mason Singleton was involved in starting the Post Oak Bend Church of Christ which was later renamed Travis Peak Church of Christ. In 1970 the church built its present building at the corner of RR 1431 and Singleton Bend Road. In the early 1990s an educational wing/fellowship hall was added. Travis Peak Church of Christ still has a family feel. It is currently led by elders Erby Garrett and Herschel Singleton. The youth of the congregation have participated in the North Texas Leadership Training for Christ program for several years. We are also involved in World Bible School and several foreign mission fields. More details on these items are included under the individual tags shown at the top of this page. While there is no Lago Vista Church of Christ, Travis Peak draws members from Lago Vista as well as Point Venture, Jonestown, Marble Falls and of course the Travis Peak community.
